Most of my clients are business leaders who are seeking to achieve scale and growth through the induction of a highly talented professional management team. They could be first time entrepreneurs or from business families or even successful technocrat managers assuming a new business responsibility.

Many of my coaching engagements originate from consulting engagements – where I typically advise on business strategy, structure and systems. Leaders discover that changing business contexts and building new organizations require a new mind-set and style – and coaching provides them with a “safe environment” to explore & experiment with different choices.

Results Achieved

I recently engaged with an entrepreneur who had single handedly built a billion-dollar business and was looking to induct a highly talented team of professionals to build an organization that would take the company global with a successful public offering. He was perceived as arrogant & bossy – and had a string of failures with senior executives reporting to him.

Over a nine-month long coaching engagement he moved from an “over-seeing” and directing role to one where he would guide and mentor (from an “active CEO” to an “inspiring Chairman of the Board”). Today he finds himself more open to feedback and his direct reports look forward to interactions with him.

He has discovered coaching to be an essential leadership skill – and we are now engaged in on-boarding all new hires and postings at the senior executive level. We are also working on interventions & programs for building a high performance culture.

Professional History

My coaching and consulting practice draws heavily from a career spanning more than 25 years — including leadership positions with highly regarded companies. I am an engineering graduate from IIT-Kanpur with an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad – premier technology & management schools in India with global ranking.

A significant part of my career was spent with Asian Paints – an industry leader in consumer goods with footprint in over 30 countries where I headed HR and IT functions. Subsequently, I moved to the Information Technology industry where I managed global businesses in consulting & professional services for large players like Keane Inc. (Boston, US based) & HCL Technologies (India based).

My business experience also includes scaling up a Silicon Valley-based Internet technology start-up with two rounds of premier VC funding and establishing a global presence.

Currently I serve on an advisory editorial committee for the prestigious Harvard Business Review (HBR) and mentor emerging leaders from the Indian industry as an expert on HR & Training for the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).
