With over 25 years as a Psychologist, HR executive and Certified Master Coach I bring a rich combination of knowledge and experience to my coaching practice.

Most of my clients are Senior level executives in medium to large organisations in the private and public sector. The focus is on developing the leadership skills of high potential talent at every level of the organisation so that they become more capable leaders.  I also assist leaders in developing and refining their management practices and strategies for increased performance, teamwork and results.

In addition, I develop and conduct team coaching to promote cultural change and more effective teams as well as training programs educating managers/leaders how to use coaching principles in their day–to-day communication with their teams.

I also conduct Career Transition and Career development coaching for major organisations

Approach

I follow a behavioural coaching approach, which is based on exploring the individual’s values, and working on the premise that real motivation and change are situated in the individual’s intrinsic motivation. I view my role as helping people become aware and engaged in self-change.

My approach is relationship-based, where connecting with the client and establishing trust is paramount.  It applies cutting-edge knowledge from the fields of neuroscience and brain-based learning and is also pragmatic,  i.e., what is “true” (from a scientific and business basis) rather than the application of a set of prescribed techniques or dogma.

I work with clients from a whole person perspective to explore and clarify their values, aspirations and barriers (personal, professional and intellectual). We then put together a roadmap and a working plan to achieve lasting change.

Results achieved

I coached a senior executive who re-joined a major financial institution after an absence of 12 years in self-employment. He found it extremely difficult to adjust to the changed culture and new regulations, which manifested in unco-operative and at times aggressive behaviour and put his employment in jeopardy.

I worked closely with him to help him gain insight into his underlying values and the source of his resistance to the new culture. As we addressed these issues I also worked with him on re-establishing his personal and career goals and helped him to become aware and engage in self-change. Such was the change in behaviour that not only was the threat to his employment averted, but senior management appointed him to mentor high potential employees.
