Jacob is an Organizational Inheritance Builder who has worked with corporate leaders to embed core values and shape a potential-maximization culture in their team. Passion and pragmatism define his design and execution of organizational development (OD) solutions. His career experience spans the world of Public Relations, Direct Marketing, Healthcare-Hygiene, Executive Search and Telecommunications. Jacob has delivered programs in Singapore, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan and Germany. He has also equipped leaders from the USA, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, South Africa, the Philippines and Middle East.
Corporately, Jacob was the Regional HR Director of an established MNC headquartered in the US, with responsibilities over Asia-Pacific. As Regional Organizational Development Manager, he also drove and implemented Asia-wide OD interventions for 12 countries encompassing change management, 360-degree feedback, core values alignment, staff communications, employee engagement and talent / career development.
With one of the world’s largest executive search firm, he engaged in sales, marketing, specialist search, regional training and product development. An experienced Search-Career Consultant, he coached franchisee owners (ex-CEOs and Senior VPs from diverse industries) across five Asian countries in sales development, consultant recruitment, performance training and client consulting. In his Business Development Manager role, he also trained and coached their consultant teams to hit sales targets.
As Business Manager for one of Asia’s pioneer Direct Marketing (DM) firms, Jacob marketed, sold, won and managed key accounts encompassing multi-channel, multi-lingual and multi-city DM solutions in APAC. He was a pioneer member of the working committee that successfully established the regional DMAsia Conference in the international scene. In corporate communications, he worked for the world’s largest public relations firm taking on marketing projects for top brand names like Coca Cola, Citibank and the American Express.
While in the management team of a Jardine Pacific conglomerate in the environmental health services, he led in technical and soft skills training, corporate communications, administration and even managed operations of a major project. In these roles, he developed and implemented Training & Development interventions for its 1,500 staff, and spearheaded its corporate communications and quality programs. He also supported Sales in major tenders and was a Consultant to Directors and Country Managers in Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia to help build their HRD capabilities to support ambitious expansion plans.
Jacob holds an NUS BA degree (top 10%); a Post-Graduate Dip. in T&D Management (Commendation Award Winner, T&D Association, UK-SIM); and a Certificate in Direct Marketing (Top Student, DM Association of Singapore). A fully ACTA certified courseware designer-trainer-assessor; he was a pioneer Instructor for seven years at the Covenant Vision School of Ministry in its Diploma program in Singapore. He is also an experienced consultant-facilitator on the faculties of leadership organizations in the US, UK and APAC.
