Mike is an experienced Board level recruiter with a specialism in Chair and Non-executive Director roles. His client base is principally UK based, mid-market companies typically privately owned, either family or private equity ownership, although he has also recruited for UK public listed companies (Plcs).
Mike is a panellist and contributor to the Financial Times Non-executive Director Club for two subjects, firstly Non-executive Director roles in private equity backed companies and secondly, securing your first Non-executive Director role.
Mike’s focus is to help non-UK firms who wish to recruit UK experienced non-executives to their Advisory Boards. He will also help UK firms who wish to recruit executives in overseas markets to drive international growth plans.
In the first few months of working with Cornerstone, projects have been initiated in China, Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic.
Prior to his career in recruitment, Mike had three years’ of venture capital experience working for a UK quoted investment business specialising in funded MBI search and investment in early stage businesses
He also held several commercial roles within the retail and property division of Grand Metropolitan Plc (now Diageo Plc)
Mike holds an MBA from London Business School and an MA in Economics and Economic History from the University of Edinburgh.
