Challenges of COVID-19 Vaccination
Vaccines as a rule take a decade or more to develop. A vaccine to protect against chickenpox took 28 years to develop. The first two vaccines against Covid-19, from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, have been developed in less than year. That can safely be called a game changer. This extraordinary accomplishment of medical science was the subject of a webinar on March 11, 2021 – organized by the Life Sciences and Healthcare specialists at Cornerstone International Group.
Two international specialists assessed where we are on one of healthcare’s most amazing journeys.
- Professor Dimitri Lavillette of the Institut Pasteur in Shanghai reviewed the different solutions available worldwide with a focus on variants and reported side effects.
- Dr. Richard Jones, South-East Asia Regional Director of International SOS, looked at the operational and communications challenges accompanying the global commercial availability of the vaccine.
