CCC Brings Real-life Learning to Leadership
From ‘Good to Great’ is a universal aspiration of CEOs and Business Owners alike.
In larger and well established firms, the CEO can count on a lot of support. He, or she, would have a CEO Advisory Group, a large legion of professional executives able to assist in running the day to day business.
He, or she, would also have an Independent Board of Directors and Advisors who would meet regularly to review company strategies and serve as trusted advisors.
Not so for all companies.
For a CEO at smaller or medium sized companies, particularly one who is newly arrived in a developing country or region, having a local support team available would still be prerequisite to success. But the resources are usually lacking.
Cornerstone International Group has stepped into this gap with the creation of the Cornerstone CEO Connection (CCC) program. The CCC is a CEO advisory group designed to provide the executive board advisory services required to support CEOs, Owners, and other C-Level personnel but at a fraction of the cost compared with setting up your own Independent Board of Advisors.
Began with Confucius
CCC evolves from our China operation, where peer advisory is a well-respected learning method in China. Confucius (500 BC) explicitly proclaimed peer-advisory as his key resource for self-improvement. His popular idiom, which translates as “If the three of us walk together, at least one of the other two is good enough to be my teacher”, is well known to every Chinese.
The objective of the CCC is to enable a fellow leader to succeed in CEO self-improvement while, at the same time, being a resource person to other CEOs in the group.
In a CCC, the advice is collective. The individual CEO selects from among all the advice received at the Committee for his or her company. Each CCC group is comprised of up to 16 CEO members. Sharing and deliberating issues and solutions are conducted in confidence and there are no direct competitors or vendors in the same group.
Experienced Leaders
Each CCC group will meet eight times a year and is led by a Chief Advisor, appointed by Cornerstone International Group. Our Chief Advisors represents some 20-plus years of successful CEO experience in growing their companies. He, or she, is also a trained facilitator who would be using CEO coaching techniques to address “issues and solutions” within the CCC group.
In addition to the eight group meetings, there are two one-on-one sessions between the Chief Advisor and the CEO member so that personal and sensitive business issues can be addressed individually.
Admission to the CCC is by invitation only to selected CEOs and Business Owners and subject to an annual subscription fee.
