Executive Search in Italy – 2015  Outlook

Italy Rocked By Management Changes Of 2014

Italian GNP is not going to show significant recovery in 2015 and this means that the major driving factor for executive search in Italy and the expansion of companies and of their management forces will again not be contributing.

Frustrating as this sounds, the general situation will be no worse than the previous four years and, in fact, some improvements are expected to show-up. This is relevant mainly to Executive Search, as Assessment (both individual and group) will continue positively as it has in in the recent past.

The major happenings in 2015 are mainly the implementation of what happened in the second half of 2014 when the top state-owned or controlled corporations changed their top management. This concerns Ferrovie dello Stato (Rail Transportation), Poste Italiane (Post Office & ITC), Finmeccanica (A&D, Ground Transportation, Intelligent Systems, General Automation), ENEL (Power Generation), Terna (Power Distribution), and ENI (Oil & Gas), to mention the most important ones.

This created a kind of earthquake that will continue during at least the first half of 2015.

The largest single event on the calendar in 2015 is the World EXPO, which will be held from May to October, in Milano.

In professional services, we hope to renew once again our partnership with ENI for Assessment in all its locations around the world, as we have done in the past 10 years. This would be an important development in supporting the recovery of Executive Search over the next two to three years.
