Koichiro is managing partner of the change management consulting practice at Cornerstone Tokyo. He is a well-known scholar and professor in the area of leadership development and change management in Japan. He owns the MBB (Management by Belief®) theory which is a revolutionary Human Resources theory originated in Japan.
In additional to his position at Cornerstone Tokyo, Koichiro has multiple roles at various organizations. He is the SVP and Partner at Fleishman-Hilliard Japan; Dean and Professor of Tama Graduate University Business School; Dean of Institute of Knowledge Leadership Studies and Deputy Dean, Center of Rule Making Strategy at Tama University.
Koichiro is the head of Communications Consulting Worldwide (CCW), a global business and communications consulting division of Fleishman-Hilliard. Established in 2005, CCW helps clients enhance their reputation values through external and internal communication strategies. Recent approaches include: ‘Strategic Change Management’, ‘Thought Leadership Branding’, ‘Global Knowledge Synthesizing’, ‘Post M&A integration’, ‘Global Corporate Value System’, ‘Management by Belief®’ and ‘Leadership and communication trainings’.
Koichiro also spent 19 years in Nissan Motor Company, mainly in its Human Resources department. He assumed various accountabilities, including the HR strategy section in the Nissan headquarters, Nissan Europe (located in Amsterdam), the Yokohama engine plant and the Nissan Technical Center.
Koichiro received his degree in International Relations from the University of Tokyo. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Oxford University.
