Larry O’Brien is Director of the Talent Development and Coaching practice for ECS Partners International. He has over 20 years of experience successfully delivering transformative leadership and professional development programs and coaching for individuals, teams and organizations
As a facilitator and coach, he helps leaders and their teams achieve their personal best through a process of increasing self-awareness, identifying goals, and developing strategies. While Larry uses proven methods and tools, he believes that each client is unique and uses creative approaches when working with groups and individuals.
Larry works with experienced leaders who are in transition such as taking on new roles, new teams or developing key leadership skills. He understands that the first 90 days for a new leader is a critical time-frame when employees and the leader are formulating their opinions about the other. The outcome of these first 90 days can be excellence or mediocrity.
Larry managed a team of external partners to develop a leadership development program for high potentials. He supervised the staff of coaches and facilitators to ensure high performance standards were met. Over 500 leaders attended this program, and it is the highest rated program at the company.
In order to accelerate a company’s cultural transformation, Larry developed a new leader development program. This year-long experience included assessments, workshops, webinars, company leadership facilitation, group work and more. As a result of attending the program, 85% felt more confident in their capacity as a leader, and 90% felt they were better prepared for this important role.
Larry worked with an organization based in Mexico City to establish the management team’s leadership brand. Because of its success, he worked with local staff to roll-out a culturally relevant leadership program for all leaders. Larry facilitated this 14 week program both virtually and on location in Mexico City.
Being born in Argentina and having lived in Venezuela and the U.S., Larry is fluent in both English and Spanish.
While working full-time with Merrill Lynch, Larry completed a Master of Human Resource Management degree at the University of North Florida. Larry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from The College of New Jersey. In addition, Larry holds the following certifications:
