Prior to contributing to the field of Executive Search, Wayan operated in various industries, such as, banking, retail, hospitality and education.
He started his career in 1989 in Bank Universal (a part of the Astra Group) – which is now Permata Bank – starting as Management Trainees and, after seven years, was promoted to the Financial Controller & Corporate Planning position. His interests then turned to the hospitality industry.
He started as Financial Controller at Sheraton, a Five Star International hotel in Indonesia. Then moved on to become Director Finance and Human Resources Mandarin Oriental Group, Corporate Director of Human Resources Retail and Hotels (a local group in Bali), Director of Human Resources IHG Hotel in Bali, Director of Human Resources Shangri-La in Maldives, General Manager of Ijen Resort in Java and Corporate Director of Finance and Human Resources Singgasana Hotels in Jakarta. In 2014, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Business Manager of Education, Green School Bali.
Since 2020, he has been an entrepreneur, building his own business as founder of Star Probiz Management Consulting, focusing on being an outsource partner for Accounting, Tax, Human Resources and Management Consulting. On top of that, he also founded a Wellness and Retreat establishment, Taman Usada Bali.
While in hospitality industry, he provided staffing services for the hotel sector. Additionally, he also supported the industry by spending time in teaching in universities to share his best practices, experience and knowledge. He also trains at managerial level. These activities were undergirded by his deep competencies and leadership in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance and Operations – as evidenced by his successful track record of managing the responsibilities of the bottom line, strategies and services.
Academically, Wayan possesses a Bachelor of Statistics from the Agriculture Institute, Bogor Indonesia. He is also a Master of Science (Management) graduate from Airlangga University, Surabaya Indonesia.
