Most of my clients are senior level executives in the private and public sector who want to become more effective in leading their organizations to achieve better business results and to improve personal effectiveness as individuals and leaders.

The focus is on developing the leadership skills of high potential talent at every level of the organization so that they become more capable leaders. I also assist leaders in developing and refining their management practices and strategies for increased performance, teamwork and results.

My clients are intelligent, hardworking, motivated and have a strong desire to continuously improve themselves. They are often facing barriers which may be holding them back from becoming more successful.

I work throughout Europe, designing and delivering training events and workshops on a range of subjects including leadership development, management and soft skills such as communication and building relationships

Results Achieved

I coached two Health Service managers through a significant re-organization, a Local Government manager facing significant changes in the workplace and a Third Sector Housing practitioner towards career progression.

I coached a Senior Director who had joined a large Aerospace Corporation with the challenge of turning around an under-performing, but crucial sector of their business. He was achieving the numbers required, but his demanding and aggressive leadership approach had led to a high staff-turnover and low staff morale which in turn put his employment in jeopardy. I worked closely with him to help him gain insight into the impact of his behaviors and his underlying values. We also worked together to re-examine his personal and career goals and establish change goals. He described the intensive coaching as transformative and immediately began addressing the issues, thereby averting a crisis.

I first worked with Arla Foods (Europe’s largest dairy) in 2013, delivering a series of Coaching for Performance training courses for Engineering / CI Supervisors / Managers in the UK. I have since coached members of the European Lean / CI implementation team.

Jet Aviation, Switzerland (part of the General Dynamic group of companies) called upon my facilitation skills during 2013 – 2015 to support the Senior Leadership Team. I was the go-to Independent Facilitator for their off-site leadership.

My extensive involvement included: Coaching, Mediation, Facilitation of Staff Focus Groups, Supporting Service Improvement, Training and Consultancy.
I have been delivering 360 degree coaching feedback to senior leaders working across Northern Europe for Pepperl+Fuchs – one of world’s leading innovators in electrical explosion protection and sensor technology with headquarters in Mannheim, Germany.

Professional History

With a commercial insight and an understanding of the people elements of business, I am committed to helping others transform and overcome challenges. I draw from my experiences of leading teams successfully, and a wealth of knowledge accrued over 25 years of public, private and third sector operational and management experience. I have worked in India, Africa, Alaska and across Northern Europe.
Before embarking on my freelance career, I was the Head of Coaching and Mentoring for the Welsh Government, leading on initiatives throughout the Public Sector in Wales. Since 2009, I have led on Organizational Development and Change Management initiatives across the Welsh Public Services.
Since 2013, I’ve been working in the following sectors Coaching and Mentoring, Developing teams, helping them implement Continuous Improvement initiatives, and Facilitating Senior Leadership off-site events:

I write for professional journals, having had numerous articles on Coaching and Workplace Mentoring published. My recent article on the subject of Confirmation Bias was the lead article in the May, 2016 edition of Professional Social Work magazine.
Since 2001, I have lectured at Swansea University (College of Human and Health Science). My ongoing contribution was recognised in January 2014 when

I was made an Honorary Lecturer. Currently, I teach at under-graduate and post-graduate (BSc. and MSc.) levels.

I am also a trained Mediator with over 15 years of practice experience. I have helped many individuals and organizations to overcome disputes and achieve sustainable solutions.

I help leaders step off the treadmill to transform their thinking skills, rediscover their resources and to become the successful leader they’ve imagined.

I develop coaching relationships built on trust, helping people become aware and engaged in their own personal development. I draw from a broad spectrum of the latest thinking, including Motivational Psychology, and Leadership Development, utilizing “what works” for each situation. Lasting changes are achieved through this supportive and challenging approach.
